Friends of Ceiba, Uncategorized
Hi Friends,
We just wanted to mention a few Grand Canyon organizations that Ceiba strongly supports and encourage you to learn more. Grand Canyon Private Boaters Association can be found @ www.gcpba.org, Grand Canyon River Guides @ www.gcrg.org and Grand Canyon Youth @ gcyouth.org. Joining/Volunteering with any of these groups is a great way to stay involved in the river community. Also, if you join Grand Canyon Private Boaters Association, you can earn 5% off your next Ceiba rental!

River Outfitting Equipment
Hello Fellow Boaters,
All of the Colorado’s tributaries are running completely muddy, true to the name Colorado. The Little Colorado has gone big and the San Juan, Paria, Dirty Devil and Escalante are spiking huge CFS – so camp high and make sure your boats are tied off securely.

Shuttles
Just to keep y’all in the loop, Diamond Creek flash flooded on Friday, July 30 in the afternoon at 800 cfs. The Hualapai had their heavy equipment out there and had the road back open by 10 a.m. on Saturday. We recommend a morning take out. For the most recent updates on road conditions at Diamond Creek call Hualapai River Runners at 1-800-622-4409. Safe & fun boating, from all of us here at Ceiba!

Yes, it is upon us & around the northeast part of Flagstaff we are having extreme flash flood alerts. This is due to the Schultz Fire and the erosion that is happening because of the lost trees & vegetation, and also because of the large amounts of ash that have replaced absorbent ground cover.
Anywhere on the Colorado Plateau please be aware of the danger of flash floods – hike & explore with caution. Have fun out there and keep all of Ceiba’s services in mind!

Hey Ya’ll, here’s a Grand Canyon update: Diamond Creek and Pearce Ferry Road are both in great condition. The ramp and the 14 day lot up at Lee’s Ferry have both finally been resurfaced and are open for business. If you haven’t heard, the September and October flows in the Canyon are going to be a steady 8000 CFS. Thanks for all your past support and we look forward to seeing you all real soon! The Ceiba Team

The Ultimate Diamond Down/Support boat!
Grand Canyon motor season is in full swing and Ceiba has 15 and 30 horsepower Honda outboard motors available. Don’t have time to do the whole Canyon? Go upsteam at Lee’s Ferry or Diamond
Creek down to South Cove. Even though there’s current all the way to Pearce Ferry, we still suggest renting a motor for the Diamond Down section – gives you a ton more time to hike and explore the Western Grand Canyon!
Be sure to check out our logistics page on our website and the PDF file for all of the available camps on the Diamond Down stretch.

We’re pretty excited about our new water filters. Vital Water Products, owned and operated by Grand Canyon river guides, has developed a battery operated water filter that they have been field testing for the past 2 years on commercial river trips. The filter is super easy to use, batteries will easily last you through… a 21 day river trip, and it pumps a gallon per minute! The main unit fits in a 20 mil and the battery pack fits in a 50 cal. Now available for rent through Ceiba. Come check it out!
