  • Our Team | Ceiba Adventures

Collectively, Ceiba is dedicated to giving you the best service possible for your trip of a lifetime. We don’t just send you downstream with our equipment. We send our spirit of adventure along with you. There are so many dedicated people (and dogs) that contribute to our success here at Ceiba. Everyone wears a lot of hats – thus we don’t have specific “job titles”. We all have our own individual skills, assets, worries, joys, achilles heels, stories, etc. Collectively, we’re dedicated to giving you the best service possible for your trip of a lifetime. We don’t just send you downstream with our equipment. We send our spirit of adventure along with you. This is why it’s fun to come to work every day! The Ceiba crew went on a short river trip from Diamond Creek to Pearce Ferry in Grand Canyon in early February 2025. The weather was perfect. “What did today mean to you?” was one of the questions asked of each of the Ceiba crew on this rare chance to get away from work on a river trip together. That question ended up becoming the heart of this short film. At Ceiba, we work hard. We keep our heads down, get things done, and often move through our days with headphones on, focused on our own piece of the bigger picture. It’s rare that we all get to step away from that rhythm and share time together — not just after hours, but on the river, over multiple days, in the kind of setting we usually send others off to enjoy. We got to share a ton of laughs; some beautiful, quiet moments; some spicy rapids; and a few small surprises. We got to live the kind of experience we work so hard to provide for other people. That’s not nothing — that’s a gift that was given to us by Rachel and Scott. This short film tries to capture a little of that — not just the action, but the feeling of it all. Grand Canyon brings people together. The Ceiba crew helps make that happen. It was really nice that we got to bring a little of that magic to each other for once.

  • Photo Submission | Ceiba Adventures

Ceiba Adventures 2023 Photo Contest Guidelines Deadline to Submit Photos and Videos until midnight, February 24th! Photo/Video Submission Guidelines & Form We hope all of you have been able to ease back in to adventuring in your favorite places. Once again, we are looking for incredible images and video stories from trips that Ceiba outfitted, wherever that may have led you. Images and video will be judged by the story they tell – standing on their own. Enter as many still images and videos as you like. Be forewarned though that more images and video does not necessarily translate into better chances of winning. Oftentimes, less is more – choose wisely. We are looking for well crafted images and video that best exemplify quality outdoor adventure experiences in a well told story. Also, please tell us where the photo was taken if it’s not self evident. For photographs, here is what we will be looking for: The decisive moment – that split second that captures a specific moment and tells a story. Layered images – To maintain an interesting narrative it is essential to draw the viewer into the scene with images that have different layers and thereby telling a story – a foreground, a middle ground, and a background. Not just a pretty, flat snapshot, whether that is landscapes, action or portraits. If you need more than one image to tell the story, then by all means, add them in. For video we will want to see: Quality, tightly edited, well thought out storytelling with a beginning, middle and end. Not just a clip of a run through a rapid (unless that alone can fully convey an interesting story). Preferably a length of 2-8 minutes. You can send us the video directly though this submission form or share a link from YouTube or Vimeo. PRIZES Grand Prize – $150 cash awarded each for best image and best video. Honorable Mentions – Ceiba merchandise to be determined and photo credits for usage in social media and website awarded for outstanding images and video. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & CONTEST RULES: Final deadline for submissions is midnight, February 24, 2023 . All images & videos must be entered using our Submission Page link below. Your name must be included in each image/video file name: ex. "FirstName_LastName_001.jpg" and so on. Enter as many images/videos as you want. They don't have to be just from Grand Canyon, but must be related to outdoor adventures that Ceiba is involved with. Each image must be: A) In a jpeg, tiff or png format, B) Sized at least 1920 pixels on long side. Each video must be: A) In an mp4, mov or wmv format, B) Tightly edited & have a storyline, C) At least 720p, D) (Optional) loaded on to either YouTube or Vimeo - link must be provided. Eligible images/videos may be entered only by Ceiba clients from Ceiba trips -- past and present. All images/videos must have been taken by the individual submitting them. C eiba Adventures, Inc. reserves the right to use all entries for their website, social media and marketing materials either online and/or printed. Photo credit will be given. 2023 Photo Contest Submission Form Year of Your Trip If you are submitting a video that is already posted on YouTube or Vimeo, please enter the URL of the link below. • COVID-19 Updates | Ceiba Adventures

COVID BULLETIN as of March 11th, 2022 As the U.S. is on the edge of transitioning from the pandemic phase to an endemic phase, Ceiba has modified our COVID protocols based on the CDC's latest findings and statistics regarding lifting restrictions. Please note that this standard is flexible, depending on conditions in Coconino County. It is possible that we may return to a mask requirement, under this guidance, if conditions in Coconino County return to a high level. While the local community COVID level remains in either low or medium status, our standard is: Masks are no longer required in either indoor or outdoor locations on the Ceiba property. However, visitors are always welcome to wear a mask if it makes them more comfortable. We are still asking that you keep your group size under 4 people in our office. We are still requesting that you wear a face covering while riding in any of our shuttle vehicles. Note for put in drives to Lees Ferry: when traveling through the Navajo Nation, wearing a mask is still mandatory in public, whether a person is vaccinated or unvaccinated. Even though all Ceiba employees are fully vaccinated, we are remaining diligent knowing that COVID will remain an active virus for the foreseeable future. We're getting closer to putting this phase of the pandemic behind us. Thanks for your consideration. COVID BULLETIN as of August 10th, 2021 Based on current data and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and in line with their recommendations, Ceiba Adventures has reinstated mask requirements in all our buildings & vehicles effective immediately. In late July, the CDC updated its COVID-19 guidance for fully vaccinated people, recommending everyone wear a mask in indoor public settings in geographic areas with substantial and high transmission, regardless of vaccination status. Coconino County COVID-19 case numbers have followed an upward trajectory over the past several weeks and the county is currently in “high” COVID-19 transmission. COVID BULLETIN as of June 2nd, 2021 As more of the population becomes vaccinated, some of Ceiba’s COVID-19 protocols are being reduced. All of Ceiba’s office, warehouse & driving staff have been fully vaccinated. However, we remain vigilant in our efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as it still remains a threat to the unvaccinated population and request that all people entering our office or warehouse still wear a face covering, vaccinated or not. If outside on Ceiba grounds, masks are optional. Wearing of masks in Ceiba vehicles will be addressed on a case by case basis. COVID BULLETIN from February, 2021 If all river participants are conscientious with their pre-trip activities and travel, the river corridor is an extremely safe place to be. Please read our recommendations and mitigation plan below. Ceiba has implemented strict protocols and procedures to combat, minimize and participate in the mitigation of the Coronavirus. Our already stringent protocols for equipment upkeep, food packing and transportation have been refined with CDC and WHO recommendations. We fully understand the seriousness of this threat. Ceiba will continue to be diligent in adapting our policies in this ever changing environment surrounding this zoonotic disease. Taking personal and group responsibility with the recommended protocols will only add to a positive experience for everyone's health and safety. Grand Canyon National Park is requesting all river trips to voluntarily bypass Havasu Canyon on the Colorado river, located at river mile 157. This request is an effort to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to further safeguard the Havasupai people and their traditional lands. River guides and boaters are encouraged to honor this request out of respect and safety for the Havasupai people. Recommendations for our Ceiba private trip clientele Ceiba Adventures COVID-19 Mitigation Plan For the time being, we ask all clients and visitors to Ceiba to be mindful of the following: Only 2 visitors at a time are permitted in the Ceiba office. Please use the hand-sanitizer provided at the front door before entering the office. Only Ceiba employees are allowed access to our warehouse and break-room. We ask that everyone wear a mask while on Ceiba property and in Ceiba vehicles during shuttles between Lees Ferry, Diamond Creek &/or Pearce Ferry If anyone needs to use the restroom, we have one available with exterior access. Thanks for respecting our protocols! We’ll get through this whole thing soon enough! Here at Ceiba we’re confident that we’ll get through these challenging times. We are committed in offering support and finding ways to mutually work thru this global pandemic. Our staff continues to man the phones and emails, and will be doing our best to keep you updated from credible sources. Thank you for all your support and please feel free to contact us at any time.
